Ingredients
250g all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
170g unsalted butter
150g brown sugar
100g granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
200g chocolate chips
Method
1. Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden brown.
2. Let butter cool to room temperature.
3. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
4. Cream butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
5. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, mix well.
6. Gradually add flour mixture until just combined.
7. Fold in chocolate chips.
8. Chill dough for 24 hours (optional but recommended).
9. Preheat oven to 180°C.
10. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon balls.
11. Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are golden.
12. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.
Tips
Chilling the dough overnight develops better flavor and prevents spreading.
